Serge Marchand

SERGE MARCHAND, Ph. D., was recently named Scientific Director at Lucine (CSO) a startup in digital therapy (Digital Therapeutics – DTx) in Bordeaux, France. He was vice-president of scientific affairs at Génome Québec from 2019 to 2020 and scientific director of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé from 2017 to 2019.

Holder of a doctorate in neurological sciences from the University of Montreal, he is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Sherbrooke as well as a researcher at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CRCHUS) where he held the position of Scientific Director of the CRCHUS from 2008 to 2013.

He is the author of several articles, books and book chapters on pain. His research focuses on the neurophysiological mechanisms responsible for the development and persistence of chronic pain.
